Ancient Art Commonalities

These diverse art forms and cultures from which they arose all hold in common either a single deity or the presence of spirits that previously occupied physical bodies that since were committed to the earth. The art pieces discussed are the Greek statue “Statuette of a seated harp player,” ca. 2800–2700 B.C. and the Egyptian sculpture, “Bowl with Human Feet,” ca. 3750–3550 B.C.E..
