A 6 page paper which addresses many of the concerns associated with the year 2000. The change that occurs in computers, when the end of this year brings a new millenium, is expected to cause disturbances. Some believe these disturbances will be ever so slight, while others predict a great deal of chaos in our society, as a direct result of failed computer systems all over the country. Different opinions and theories are discussed in addition to the many possibilities that may exist. Despite preventive measures, aimed at preventing serious chaos, only time will tell if any intervention will prove successful. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Y2K: Realities and Fears of the New Millennium

An 8 page discussion of the fears and realities of Y2K. Dismisses the probability of a religious apocalypse but emphasizes that there could be numerous inconveniences due to the computer glitch which is expected by many to occur with the turn of the year. Stresses that while there is much debate regarding the potential severity of Y2K in relation to the typical individual it is foolish not to be prepared for at least some minor inconveniences. Public Relations & How They Relate to the Worlds of Technology and Science

Although Science and Technology are the main focus, one story involving Kuwait is discussed to better illustrate how public relations is capable of strongly influencing the public in one direction or another.
