Comparing Spanish and US School System Structure
[ send me this paper ]
A 13 page paper listing and evaluating
the similarities and differences between Spanish and US schools. Spanish students spend only
slightly more days in class each year than do US students. Spain spends less per student and gives
teachers less autonomy than in the US, yet Spain's overall literacy rate is greater than the US.
Specialized training is less developed in Spain, and both nations have difficulties with dropout
rates as teens move beyond the age of compulsory education. It appears that at least in the
primary and secondary levels, Spain can provide lessons for the world. Bibliography lists 7
sources.
